ACE Oysters - Case study



Overview.

Multigenerational Oyster farming enterprise established in 1954. The two youngest cousins decided to modernize the business model of the company to make the brand modern and to give consumers access to high-quality fresh Oysters to be delivered to their doorstep and wallah ACE Oysters was born.

They are established in Zeeland, the Netherlands, an area well known for its premium quality oysters and incredible breathtaking landscapes. As they are the 3rd generation of oyster farmers, they acquired years of experience and total mastery of oyster farming. Passionate about nature, they grow high-quality oysters on their plots in the Oosterschelde and the Gevelingen Lake.




Objectives and challenges.

ACE Oysters asked Revnuu to support them at the very beginning of their business. At this point, they only had a name in mind, but no more brand elements, and had absolutely no idea how to launch their business online. They needed to be supported for their marketing & communication development. The first challenge was to help them build their brand, to define a strategy aligned with their goals, and to clarify all the communication means needed to get there.




Project scope.

First of all, the positioning of the brand needed to be defined: range level, what to highlight, the values of the brand. Revnuu was then responsible for creating ACE Oysters’ brand identity, with a logo and a specific graphic charter. The new brand identity was reported in a brand manual, which is a document that includes all the guidelines to follow, such as type fonts, color palette, monochrome applications, secondary color combinations, and a “do and don’t” section.

Revnuu’s design team carefully designed all the associated graphic elements, in line with the new identity. We worked especially on the creation of their packaging and their business cards. For the packaging, we had to take into account the technical aspect of the product while keeping a design that is pleasing to the eye. We finally selected wooden boxes, which are perfectly suited for oysters, and had them printed by a specialist in seafood products.

At this point, ACE Oysters needed to be launched on Social Media with the objective of starting to build the brand by increasing awareness. To allow ACE Oysters to be known by their target audience, and get closer to them, we set up a social media strategy. This strategy is based on an organic acquisition on Instagram and some paid ads. The service includes designing posts, editing videos, copywriting, planning, and scheduling. A presence is also assured on LinkedIn, Facebook and Google My Business.

The final objective of the collaboration was to launch their e-commerce website, for online oysters selling to the Netherlands, Belgium and France. More than only selling online, they wanted an educational website, where oyster passionates can find specific and detailed information about the sea world. Revnuu developed an e-commerce website, hosted by Shopify, as they needed a platform that they can easily manage, even from their phone. The website has a blog section, where the ACE Oyster team can share their latest news and articles about the oyster industry. We developed this website using beautiful images of Zeeland, to remind the origins of the company.
